Kiwi Day 7

Wanaka to Queenstown
We enter the Kawarau Gorge and the lush green turns to rugged rocky dry brown scrub. The Kawarau river lies at the bottom of the gorge as we follow it and pull off at the Kawarau Bridge aka K Bridge and the home of the 1st commercial bungy site in the world! 43 m down where you can be dunked in the river below as you hurl yourself off the bridge...or not! AJ Hackett owns and operates and started bungy in NZ.

Queenstown is a quaint town nestled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu facing The Remarkables mountain range aka "The F*%#ing Amazing" mountain range so named by an american film maker....The scenery is simply magical and stunning and I did not want to leave. Today Queenstown has a population of 20,000 and is known as the adventure capital of the world, there are ski fields, Coronet Peak and The Remarkables, river boarding, luging, jet boats, everything you can think of to do on the Lake, mountain biking, paragliding,canyoing,skydiving...I could go on but won't...you wanna do it I bet you can!

Can't talk about Q-town without mentioning the Fergburger!! HUGE and delicious burger, had a couple...so tasty. Also the World Bar, best filet steaks in NZ also teapots...scary drink concoctions served in teapots with so much booze it's a bit scary!

We also took the gondola up to the mountain peak above town for a stunning view and a couple luge rides down the side of the mountain...heaps of fun on a gorgeous day!!
